GLAZED FIRE
DOORS & SCREENS.
Steel and glass fire rated systems. EI up to 120 on fixed screens. EI up to 90 on side-hung doors. Forster Fuego Light and Forster Unico — fabricated under annual-audit licence from Forster AG, Switzerland.
DFM fabricates the Forster Fuego Light and Unico systems under annual-audit licence from Forster AG (Switzerland). Forster AG holds all test evidence, Declarations of Performance, and CE certification for these systems.
Two systems. Different jobs.
Fuego Light handles interior fire compartmentation in steel and glass. Unico extends the same architectural language to exterior thermally-broken openings.
Interior Fire Glazing
EI 30 / 60 / 90 · fixed screens to EI 120 · Sa/S200
Side-hung doors, fixed screens, and single-track sliding doors. Used for compartmentation, atrium separation, and glazed lobbies where daylight and a fire line must coexist.
- Side-hung · EI 30 / 60 / 90
- Fixed screens · EI 30 / 60 / 90 / 120
- Sliding · EI 30
- RC3 + fire combined available
Exterior Thermally Broken
EI 30 / EW 30 · Uw down to 0.9 W/m²K
Full thermal break in 100% steel — no synthetic insulators. Used for exterior entrances and façade openings where both thermal performance and fire resistance are required.
- EI 30 · EW 30
- Uw down to 0.9 W/m²K
- 100% steel — no synthetic insulators
- Exterior applications
Side-hung Doors
Single and double leaf side-hung fire doors in Fuego Light steel profile. For compartment doors, corridor separation, and glazed lobbies.
| Product | Configuration | Fire Classification | Smoke |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fuego Light SH 30 | Single / double leaf | EI 30 | Sa / S200 |
| Fuego Light SH 60 | Single / double leaf | EI 60 | Sa / S200 |
| Fuego Light SH 90 | Single / double leaf · Max | EI 90 | Sa / S200 |
Side-hung Fuego Light doors are classified to a maximum of EI 90. EI 120 is not available as a side-hung door configuration — see Fixed Glazed Screens below for EI 120 performance. RC3 burglar resistance can be combined with any side-hung fire rating.
Fixed Glazed Screens
Non-opening glazed fire screens in Fuego Light profile. The only Fuego Light configuration that achieves EI 120.
| Product | Configuration | Fire Classification | Smoke |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fuego Light FS 30 | Fixed screen | EI 30 | Sa / S200 |
| Fuego Light FS 60 | Fixed screen | EI 60 | Sa / S200 |
| Fuego Light FS 90 | Fixed screen | EI 90 | Sa / S200 |
| Fuego Light FS 120 | Fixed screen · Flagship | EI 120 | Sa / S200 |
EI 120 in Fuego Light is achieved on fixed screens only. A fixed screen is a glazed assembly with no opening leaf — do not specify EI 120 on any side-hung or sliding door configuration.
Sliding Doors
Single-track sliding fire doors in Fuego Light profile. Interior applications where the opening plane must stay clear.
| Product | Configuration | Fire Classification | Smoke |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fuego Light SL 30 | Single track sliding | EI 30 | Sa / S200 |
Sliding Fuego Light doors are classified at EI 30 only. For higher fire ratings in a sliding configuration, see Sliding Gates (SG 60 / SG 90).
Thermally Broken Doors
Exterior steel-and-glass doors with full thermal break. 100% steel profile — no synthetic insulators — achieving Uw values down to 0.9 W/m²K with EI 30 fire classification.
| Product | Configuration | Fire / Radiation | Thermal (Uw) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unico EI 30 | Exterior · Thermally broken | EI 30 | Down to 0.9 W/m²K |
| Unico EW 30 | Exterior · Thermally broken | EW 30 | Down to 0.9 W/m²K |
Unico is Forster's thermally-broken system — all-steel construction with no polyamide or plastic insulators. Designed for exterior applications where both fire performance and Part L thermal compliance are required.

Glazing and frame integration.
Fuego Light and Unico are installed per the Forster system manual. Glass is supplied and glazed to the Forster specification — the classification depends on the correct glass, gasket, and seal build-up being delivered together. Substituting any component voids the classification.
Supported substrates: masonry, concrete, structural steel, and engineered timber. Unico exterior installations require the thermal-break continuity to be maintained across the frame-to-substrate interface, with weather-sealing per the Forster detail.

Verify the opening
Check structural opening against the Forster system field of application and the project-specific fabrication schedule.
-
02
Frame installation
Install Forster profile frame with approved anchors. Plumb, square, and packed to Forster tolerance. Maintain thermal break continuity on Unico.
-
03
Glazing
Glaze with the specified Forster fire glass, gaskets, and intumescent seals. No substitution. Handle per Forster manual to avoid edge damage.
